Welcome Guests

Our Club's Beginnings

Welcome, to our website. If you live in the Southlake Texas or surrounding area and would like to learn more about our club or attend a meeting please contact our membership coordinator by clicking here. We look forward to hearing from you.

We meet the 1st Friday of the month from September through May from 10am to noon.  At most of our meetings we enjoy a garden related program with a guest speaker which is followed by a delicious lunch prepared by our members.  Each member serves on a hostess committee at one of the meetings.  The committee plans, cooks, sets up and cleans up for their designated meeting.  We like to meet in our member's homes but also meet in neighborhood clubhouses and other venues.  In December, we enjoy a nice holiday lunch at a local restaurant or country club. Dues are $60 for the year or $30 for new members joining after January 1st.

We also plan other outings such as coffee meetups, lunches, social hours, movies, garden visits and other fun activities throughout the entire year.  It's a wonderful way to learn more about gardening while forming friendships with others.

In mid-spring 1994, Vera Hall offered to develop a special interest group for gardening as part of the Southlake Newcomer’s Club.

Armed with the seeds of patience and a fruitful spirit, the “gardening group” became a quick success. The following summer of 1995, Vera contacted Carolyn Hobbs to discuss the future of Southlake’s newest gardening enthusiasts. Since the group was already growing independently from the Southlake Newcomer’s Club, the two friends decided it was time to branch out on their own, thus creating the Southlake Garden Club.

Many blooms, garden parties, and educational programs later, the Southlake Garden Club

continues to share innovative gardening tips while nurturing wonderful friendships, old and new.
